A clear horizon of cloudless skies, deep blue waters and miles of mesmerizing coastal landscapes basking in the sunshine of the warm and pleasant Mediterranean sun…Welcome to the Gulf of Orosei.
Situated in the East Cost of the Island, Orosei is a serene and secluded place that is famous as one of the most beautiful and uncontaminated gulfs of the Mediterranean. It has one of the longest beaches of the Island.
Most of the beaches nearby do not offer beach service, you'll find at home complimentary sun umbrellas and towels.
Five coves of soft, white sand looking out onto the emerald green sea, in a park of unspoilt nature: an unparalleled oasis in the northern part of the Gulf of Orosei.
The dazzling white sand will suddenly appear before your eyes at the end of a long road bordered by junipers, pines and holm oaks. Although the sensation is that of being in a different world, this place really exists and it is the oasis of Bidderosa: five dreamy little coves inside a park of 860 hectares, mostly formed by woods and Mediterranean scrub, protected by the Forest Authority and entrusted to the Municipality of Orosei. Access by car or motorbike is limited to a restricted number from May until the end of October.

La Marina di Orosei, which you can comfortably reach from the town, has transparent waters whose hues of blue change constantly as the sun reflects on the bottom, which deepens suddenly. A beach with golden sand and clear sky-blue water, a perfect destination for surfers and divers. Often hit by the wind, this is the perfect destination for surfers.
The beach boasts all amenities and services: it is accessible to disabled people, visitors can rent beach equipment and paddleboats, there is plenty of parking space available, bars and restaurants. Behind the marina, the abundant vegetation, typical of the Mediterranean scrub, frames the pond and the mouth of the Cedrino river. Much loved by underwater fishermen and scuba divers: about two miles from the beach lies one of the island's most fascinating and best preserved wrecks, the KT, a German landing craft about 70 metres long that sunk in 1943 after being hit by the English submarine patrolling the gulf at the time.
📍 Spiaggia Marina di Orosei Google MapsTo the rear is the pool of Su Pedrosu, surrounded by highly scented vegetation. Its waters are crystal clear and of a changing blue due to the plays of light created by the sun reflecting off the sea bed.
🔗 Spiaggia di Su Barone — Tripadvisor tripadvisor.itOsalla is a delightful cove with a little, unspoilt beach, set in greenery, in the territory of Dorgali, as well as a large beach next to the territory of Orosei.
The cove of Osalla is separated from the 'Spiaggione' (big beach) of the same name by a rocky spur, which is easy to reach on foot, where a little mooring harbour has been created for tourist boats and fishermen's boats. The sand is quite fine and the seabed is shallow, making it suitable for families and a place in which children can play, but also for snorkelling enthusiasts.
The beach of Osalla is a long (almost five kilometres) stretch of fine, golden sand, protected and delimited by dark reefs, that offers a solitary and unusual appeal. Next to it, there is a lovely pine forest, ideal for relaxing in the afternoon, while the Osala rivulet flows parallel to the beach and can be crossed via small bridges. Its waters are transparent and iridescent blue in colour, because of the play of light created by the reflection of the sun on the seabed.
🔗 Spiaggia Osalla — Tripadvisor tripadvisor.itAn emerald bay with a bottom of thick golden sand, embraced by light rocks. Not far from the shore, three large rocks, easy to access thanks to the shallow bottom, rise from the water to add an exotic touch to the bay. Behind, the sos Alinos pond, surrounded by reeds and agaves, the perfect shelter for the water birds that have chosen this area to make their nests. In the surrounding Mediterranean vegetation, the summer reds and rounded shapes of prickly pears appear, together with dwarf palm trees and myrtle bushes that fill the beaches with delicious scents. The particular shape of this bay makes it a rich place for trekking paths.
Prior to reaching the elevation that separates it from Cala Ginepro, another Orosei wonder made of sandy dunes pockmarked with Mediterranean scrubs and a sea of ever-changing colours, you must face a relaxing walk of a few hundred metres along a beach lined with a thick pine grove. You can get as far as the small and lovely beaches of sas Linnas Siccas and sa Curcurica.
A jewel on the northeastern coast of the Island: a half-moon stretch of five kilometres of soft, pure white sand dunes, bathed by a crystal clear sea and covered by centuries-old junipers, forming interesting natural huts.
The scenery is described by many tourists as one of the wonders of Sardinia, able to regenerate the spirit and offer new emotions based on the sunlight, from sunrise until sunset. Near the beach, there are also two archaeological areas, in which you will find the ruins of the Conca Umosa and Paule e'Luca nuraghi.
With a long, pleasant walk along the water's edge, to the north you can reach the splendid dunes of Capo Comino and S'Ena e Sa Chitta, three kilometres of fine, white sand, closed in by rocks in the area of the old lighthouse.
🔗 Spiaggia di Berchida — Tripadvisor tripadvisor.itIt's a quiet beach with a length of just about 300 meters.
What makes this beach quite unique is that it's tucked between a creek on the north side and a riverbed on the south side where the Fiume Cedrino river flows into the sea.
On the south side, there's a small pine tree forest where you can find some shade during the hottest hours of the day. The car parking is located right behind the middle of the beach. Do note that there are no other facilities such as a restaurant or bar, so bring something to eat and drink.
